About Us

The Latino/Hispanic caucus has informally existed since the early 1970s and emerged as part of The Crusade for Justice, a Chicano cultural urban movement. Since the 1970s, the Latino Caucus has steadily increased its membership, including several members of both House and Senate Leadership. CDLC officially incorporated as a 501c3 organization in 2019 in an attempt to formalize the work of the caucus and provide support to its members. Since the creation of the 501c3 organization, the caucus has taken its work across the state, with town halls, listening tours, and policy summits.
